Report Card Photos Not Working (Chrome v142 on Android)

A handful of people on newer Android phones are running into a problem where photo uploads in Report Cards simply do nothing after picking an image. The file picker opens, but the photos never appear in the card. An attempted workaround fix for this replaced the original issue with a generic “Network Error Occurred” error on Report Card send.

After digging around, this turned out to match a known Chrome bug that affects version 142 on Android. It also hits every browser that uses Chrome under the hood. Firefox is the only one that seems to work normally.

Workarounds

• Using Firefox on Android works

• Desktop browsers work

• All iOS browsers work

• Avoid Chrome 142 and Chromium-based browsers like Opera, Edge, and Brave for now
