Holiday surcharge calendar displaying when clients book
Hi! I’d like to kindly ask if you could look into having the holiday surcharge calendar/dates show when clients make a booking. I’ve had a few clients reach out to figure out why they were charged more after having already made a booking - having the dates available to review during the booking process, either on the side or as a pop-up, would cancel the awkwardness of having to explain why some days are more expensive than others.

Hey @Léa Pertuy ! Any surcharge (holiday, weekend, extra pet) should be visible in the online booking process (see below screenshot). If you are noticing they are not, let me know.
What your clients may have been noticing is that, when viewing the booking in the portal, the surcharge is not displayed in the booking details (see screenshot below).
This is a known issue, and there’s a bit of a complicated reason as to why it can’t be displayed at the moment (see https://feedback.scritches.io/u/684f01e4e0dfc6ef2b61b706 for more info). I’m working on fixing this to better display up-to-date surcharge info to you and clients.
For now, it would be good to advise clients that the booking’s Invoice is the source of truth for the total cost. The invoice will include all surcharges and will be available for clients to see in their portal once it is out of Draft status.

I might have explained that wrong - sorry!
It does show the surcharge but they were not aware of which dates fell under the surcharge and since it showed as a total amount (let's say $50 for a 5 day booking so $10×5), they were confused as to why they were charged x amount.
If there were a calendar or pop up available for them to review, I think it would be more transparent.
I think for big holidays it makes sense to most people but for this very example, I'm charging a holiday rate over an entire week-end (since it's an extended weekend people often use to travel) when the actual holiday (remembrance day) is only one day - hence the confusion.

Ah, that makes sense! My explanation was for something completely different, sorry about that 🙂
In that case, I totally understand. An indicator (or something of the sort) for holidays on the date selection calendar could make this clearer. I’ll leave this open as a feature request!
