I wanted to add a bit more context to this because I think it’s really important. Requiring deposits is actually recommended as a standard practice in the pet sitting industry to secure bookings and reduce last-minute cancellations, especially for new clients.
I also came across an article on petsitters.org written by the founder of Scritches that specifically mentions this as part of running an efficient pet sitting business, which makes it seem like a really natural feature to have built into the platform.
Being able to require deposits, whether just for new clients or as a general option, would make a huge difference for scheduling reliability and protecting sitters’ time.
